Prince New 20Ten Album Available in Europe

Prince's new album 20Ten has been released today through UK newspaper The Daily Mirror and Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad. The album isn't available online through these newspapers, it is only available through print copies of each newspapers. Prince doesn't want to distribute his music through the internet anymore, and I do understand why. His new album however has leaked on the internet, in this day and age it's practically impossible to avoid that from happening. Someone will always leak an artist's album online as soon as they get their hands on it.

I've listened to it and I love it! It brings me back to the 80s, which I love! It's one of the best albums he's made in the past couple of years. My favorite songs are "Future Love Song", "Sticky Like Glue", and "Act of God". What are yours?

20Ten track list:

Compassion
Beginning Endlessly
Future Love Song
Sticky Like Glue
Act of God
Lavaux
Walk in Sand
Sea of Everything
Everybody Loves Me
Laydown (Bonus Track)

For those of you who like me already heard the album online, but don't have a copy of 20Ten yet, because you don't live in Europe, buy it as soon as Prince will distribute it through North America. That's what I plan on doing myself. Support the artists that you love.

Chaka Khan and Macy Gray Close Toronto Jazz Festival

The TD Toronto Jazz Festival came to an amazing end with a free concert that drew traffic-blocking crowds to Yonge-Dundas Square.

Chaka Khan and Macy Gray were the double treat for yesterday evening's closing of the festival. Both singers truly impressed the crowd with their stellar performances and voices.

Chaka Khan, who was considered to be the headliner pleased the audience with classics such as “Through the Fire,” “Sweet Thing” and “I’m Every Woman”.

Macy Gray was more laid back, she included microphone feedback and sang songs from her new album "Beauty in the World". The crowd got very excited when she sang her classic track “I Try.”

Dave Brubeck Receives Miles Davis Award

A second Miles Davis award was handed out today at the Montreal Jazz Festival to legendary jazz pianist Dave Brubeck. The other Miles Davis award was given last week to Saxophonist Sonny Rollins.

Brubeck, is credited with moving jazz west to California in the 1940s with his distinctive style. His 1959 album "Time Out" is considered a jazz classic.

Dave Brubeck knew Miles Davis and recalls a special day with the jazz legend: "One day he came to my house, and my kids, when they came home from school, they saw Miles and I playing basketball,'' he said. ''They couldn't believe that.

"Then he went to the punching bag. He liked to box. Did you know that? He was very interested in sports."

He also had a special bond with him: "People said he could be hard to get along with but we got along great. We were truly friends. To get this award, this is wonderful because I admired him so much. It is a great tribute to have that."

Here's an all time favorite of the Dave Brubeck Quartet "Take Five":

New Rachel McGoye Single - Ghetto Gloss

Rachel McGoye's music brings a new meaning to the word melody. Her latest album "Ghetto Gloss" is filled with densely melodic pop sounds accompanied by razor sharp songwriting, with sensual worthy vocals, and complex instrumentals that captivate the listener. Produced and co-written by Alex Band (formerly of The Calling), the melodies have a purpose; the sounds have a mission. From the catchy lyrics of her first single "Ghetto Gloss" to the beautiful ballad "Love Me Good" 'Ghetto Gloss' is a genuine modern day album that you will absolutely fall in love with.

Janet Jackson Performs at the Essence Music Festival

Janet Jackson rocked it at the Essence Music Festival last Friday! Performing "What Have you Done for me Lately", "Feedback", and many more of her hits since the 80s! She sang "Together Again" as a tribute for her brother Michael Jackson.

It's the first time Janet performed since her last tour two years ago. It's as if she never went away, her choreography and singing was top-notch!

She recently admitted that she loved being back to acting as she featured in Tyler Perry's last movie "Why Did I Get Married Too" and is also featured in "When The Rainbow is not enuf", a movie also directed and produced by Tyler Perry. However she is thankful for everything she has in her life and loves to sing too.
