In an effort to donate as much money as possible for relief programs in America and Africa, American Idol managed to raise an impressive
$60 million.
The two hour special included performers such as Earth Wind & Fire, Kelly Clarkson and Josh Groban. In addition, Ellen DeGeneres co-hosted with Ryan Seacrest on Wednesday and donated $100,000. Other celebreties such as Ben Stiller and Madonna encouraged viewers to make a donation.
