Prince - New York Gig This Friday + VH1 Prince Weekend!

Dr. Funkenberry.com has announced that reliable sources have revealed that Prince will be performing Friday night in New York. There isn't any information yet as to where it will be held, but hopefully it won't only be available to celebs. It probably will be held to promote his new book "21 Nights" and will probably be followed by an aftershow. If I find any news on it before Friday, I'll make sure to post it!

For those of you who don't have the pleasure to live or be in New York, tune into VH1 this weekend for a Prince weekend!

Taken from VH1:

"Rooted in R&B, soul and funk, Prince has released several hundred songs both under his own name and with other artists garnering six Grammy Awards, an Academy Award, and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004."

"Prince has absorbed many other genres including pop, rock, jazz, new wave, psychedelia and hip hop into his musical palette citing Sly Stone, Curtis Mayfield, Jimi Hendrix, Joni Mitchell, James Brown and Carlos Santana as his primary influences. This weekend tries to fit in enough Prince material from the early 80's with Purple Rain to the 90's with Diamonds and Pearls to now with Planet Earth all here on Vh1."
