BET 2010 Honors – Whitney Houston, Sean Diddy Combs, Queen Latifah

 
BET celebrated Whitney Houston, Sean Diddy Combs, and Queen Latifah last night at the 3rd annual BET Honors.

Jennifer Hudson sang “I will Always Love You”, and had Whitney Houston standing full of admiration while she was singing.

Mary J. Blige sang a medley of “Love No Limit”, “I Love You”, and “Be Happy” for Diddy in appreciation for having helped launch her career.

Jazmine Sullivan performed “Unforgettable” and “Rock Steady” for Queen Latifah.

Stevie Wonder and Trey Songz surprisingly sang “I Invented Sex” together. They also sang a tribute to the late Teddy Pendergrass with India.Arie.

Soul singer Maxwell finished the show by singing two songs from his  Grammy nominated album BLACKsummers’night: “Fistful of Tears” and “Bad Habits”.

The show will air on February 1st on BET.

Maxwell's BLACKsummers' night Tour!

In support of the release of BLACKsummers' night (due July 7th), Maxwell has announced the dates of a summer tour.

The new album is the first of a trilogy. BlackSUMMERS’night and Blacksummers’NIGHT are set to be released in 2010 and 2011.

Maxwell - BLACKsummers' Night Album Cover

Maxwell just revealed the cover to his long-awaited new album, BLACKsummers’ Night, via his official website.

BLACKsummers’ Night, the first installement of the trilogy, will be available on July 7th through Columbia Records.

New Maxwell Video - Pretty Wings

Maxwell's long anticipated new album "BLACKsummer'snight", will be released on July 7th. The video for his first single "Pretty Wings" has just surfaced. "BLACKsummer'snight" is Maxwell's first album in eight years! The music industry is lucky to have such a talent back on the scene.

Maxwell - On Tour!

Maxwell will tour for the first time in six years this Fall, beginning October 8th in Boston through November 21 in Philadelphia.

Maxwell, who has not released an album since 2001, is now recording material for a three-part follow-up, titled "Black Summers’ Night".

The Return of Maxwell!

Maxwell is finally giving fans a peek of his long-in-the-works new album. A snippet of "Pretty Wings" is included on my playlist so feel free to check it out! New Columbia urban music exec Kyambo "Hip-Hop" Joshua told Billboard he expects the album, originally due in February 2007, next year.

"Maxwell's still working with Sade's band, his tried-and-true team," he says. "He took some time off and now he's ready."

"He's recorded so much material that he's got a couple of albums done," he continues. "So, he might be going out on the road touring for this album soon. I won't say the album will drop first-quarter 2008, but [next] summer sounds good."

I love Maxwell, I think he's a fantastic singer with a cool, smooth voice, can't wait to hear his new album!
